Have I told you lately that I love you

I love being a mom! I don't know what I did before Emilee. I think it's so fun, and I am amazed everyday that she is mine! I just hope I can teach her all the right things in life and make my own mother proud.

Like mother like daughter

I Know Emilee looks ridiculously like her dad so I enjoy when I find similarities to me!

Introducing Rice Cereal

 August 6th. First "solid" food!

seems pretty happy to eat, although it gets EVERYWHERE. What a messy kid. It's a little less messy now that she and I have had some practice with it.

learning to...sit?

I adore her experssion!
It's like she is surprised she is sitting, or a proud little smug look. I can't quite tell.

Whoa! Tip over. She can only sit for a very very brief moment.
The usual theme for fall is "We interrupt this marriage to bring you hunting season." Well I was getting tired of that, so to solve this problem and give me and Daniel something in common he bought me a bow. I'm not into actual killing of animals but my first target practice was really fun.

Green arrow is Daniel's. Pink is mine. Two words: OH YEAH!

My Little Butterball

Emilee's 4 month check-up with the doctor went well. Even the doctor thinks she's beautiful but he probably says that to all the babies. I thought she handled the shots extremely well; screamed for just a minute and was ok, until later in the day and then the next day she got fiesty.  I'm just glad Daniel was able to come with me so he could hold her because I had to look away while that giant needle stabbed her leg. But we both were just fine. Her stats are:

  • 16.38 pounds (90th percentile!)
  • 24 1/4 inches tall (50th percentile)

Short and chubby, Just the way we like em.

HOUSE work

The update on our house; putting new siding up, which is not all the way done yet. New windows, new lawn, going to out in a sprinkling system. Still working on the master bedroom, it needs the carpet in and doors painted. Other rooms are still 1960's wallpapered extravaganza. Apple tree's doing well and I think I will learn to make homemade applesauce soon if there aren't too many worms.

new siding- still needs painted. Also planted trees.

Old lawn is rolled up and gone, it's a long story of how we got this all done!
The house was bank ownedand the lawn wasn't very good so we decided to
start fresh and put in new sod this fall.

Old siding on back of house, ugly red brown and peeling paint.

New at this

So several people have told me to start a blog, and I like to look at other people's blogs to keep up on friends and family, mainly Julia's Jazz! So here it is, my very own blog so others can keep up on what our little family has been up to lately (and somewhere to show off my cute Emilee!)  I have no idea how to do this so someone needs to give me a lesson, but let's begin.....
