St. George

We took a little road trip at the end of February down to St. George. It's a long drive all the way from vernal, but we enjoy seeing my grandparents and spending some time with them. We went on a Thursday and stayed until Sunday. On the drive I took a little nap and I woke up when we were in construction in American Fork and Daniel got in the wrong lane and we ended up not being able to get on the freeway, and drove around in rural circles for at least half an hour until we were able to figure it out. It was kind of humorous. This happened again while in St. George. We were looking for this wildlife museum and drove all over town driving further and further away from the right direction. We tried to follow the street address but St. George always, always confuses us, those bluffs just get in the way! When we finally found the museum, it was practically across the road from Blaine and Granny's house!! It was pretty cool because it had full-body mounts of animals from all over the world; giraffe's, grizzle bears, polar bears, elk, lions, kudu... strange animals I've never seen before. Adam and Crystal also came down a day later to join in the festivities. Adam and Daniel love Chili's ribs and golfing together, so that's just what they did. Unfortunately the weather was rainy and windy and they didn't get to finish golfing (they did hit a few balls though). Blaine said it was the worst day all winter, because the rest of our trip the weather was beautiful and warm. Daniel was pretty much heartbroken! The trip to the D.I. might have made up for it though. I love going to the D.I. and finding hidden treasures, it's my new past time of mine as a stay at home mom,  and the D.I. in St. George was huge! We found golf clubs and slacks, cool ties and polo shirts for Daniel.
Emilee loved to splash in the pool, but the big hit was Granny's coasters on her coffee table. She would stand up next to the table and slide the coasters all over the table and loved it. It kept her entertained. The table was the perfect height for her, while there she learned to walk along it, doing laps. She is getting around more and more.
Blaine and Granny are infamous card players! Last year Granny and I won the game and Daniel and Blaine lost, and lost bad. Daniel was way upset and said he would never play cards with them again! I thought it was an overreaction and told him to calm down that "it's just a game" while secretly gloating in my amazing skills. Well maybe it's Karma, but this year the tables were turned and they kicked my butt at cards. I had more empathy for Daniel, just six months later. I need practice before I play cards again, that's all I can say.
St. George was a blast and we can't wait to go back again in the summer.
