Daniel and his Dad went on a hunt to Colorado. While they were gone I stayed with his mom (so we didn't have to be all alone in our empty houses.) We decided to do some things to keep us busy; canning was one of those things. It took a few days for us to finally get things going and we were ready to can- got peaches one day, picked apples another. Daniel's cousin Melinda was helping too, and we all went to the store to get more jars and we came back to my in-laws house and the dogs were outside, and her car was moved. We were all a bit freaked out until we went around to the back and Daniel and his dad had returned from hunting. Their trip was planned for ten days but they were back after four. It totally shocked us! So they lucked out and got (or had to) help us in our adventure. Turns out Colorado have a severe lack of deer, and they damaged the truck and had to return while they could still make it. So learning to can for my first time was pretty fun, and we got alot of apple sauce, a few peaches and bottled apples. It seems like alot of work, when you can just go buy a can of fruit at the store for some change, but I liked it anyways.
peeled, cored and botttled apples. They looked kinda pretty in the jars.
Finished porducts!
jars and more jars.

Next time I come over, I totally want some! I think that's so cool that you did that. I haven't ever canned anything, but I need to learn!
